This is a prime example of why I dig a few pages deep into challenge results. What happened here? Must be that voters were looking for a bigger toothy grin. I totally see a smile, and the technicals are spot on. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but that kid just looks like a happy kid to me. Unless his hair is professionally colored, those streaks are actually from the sun (gasp). That means he's being a kid and being outside, maybe even spending time in the pool. Sounds like a life worth smiling about to me.

I feel that the tips of the flowers are overexposed (as well as some stem bits), but I wouldn't be surprised to see this on the front page when results are announced. This is the first image of the challenge that stopped me cold in my tracks. It has beautiful colors and is nicely composed.

I'm not really getting "rain" out of this, but judging by the available overcast light, I do believe it. The guy on the far right looks a little damp, but it's hard to tell with the others because of hats or lack of visible hair.

I really like this. The streaks make the other side of the window look like a painting. Great clouds too.

I'm not totally sold on the composition, but I can't offer a better suggestion.
