Watering at the honey hole.by rolsonComment: That would be cool if you could get them to spell something, heh. The most interesting part of the photo is the cluster of ants in a circle. Perhaps a tighter crop on that would help improve the overall interest. |

Teak on Teakby jfwolpertComment: You honestly didn't give the viewer much to look at. Without having read your title and then looking up what Teak actually was I really wouldn't have had much to work with. |

La Belle Fleur Morteby Jaded_HousewifeComment: I really like the colors of the leaf and twig. I'm not sure the stark white background helps much though. The white blinds your eyes which makes it harder to see the details in the leaf and twig. I think a more subtle/neutral background would have helped you see those details. |

Unionby macrothingComment: I like the overall feeling and your focus is dead on. But...
I think you're just a touch too dark. The second moth is a bit too hard to see. I also think the leaf and top stick are distracting. Without the distracting elements you could have gotten a little closer on the moths to show more of their beautiful markings while still maintaining the minimalism. With something as interesting as your moths I think they could have held the photo on their own easily. |

On the edge..by bnileshComment: I'm not sure what is off in the distance to the right, but if it were me I would have tried to capture some of the vast openness. I think that would add to the adventureness of the photo and add to the minimalism. As it is now my eye follows the left brushy wall which I find distracting. The draw to photos like this for me is that the person out on the edge got there with a great deal of difficulty. By including the hill on the left that sense of danger fades, and I picture a trail and a parking lot on the otherside of the hill.
It's a good photo, but I think you could have gotten a big "Wow" factor by turning your camera to the right a bit. |

Spice Haikuby pepitoidComment: Your focus seems to be on the red rather than the leaf with the droplets. I think you're also a little too close. While technically this is probably minimalism I think it would have more impact if you were to pull back a little to allow the leaf and pod to relax. (If that makes sense, heh)
I think this is definately worth a reshoot. It has the potential to be a very pleasant photograph. |

Dying leaf, water, green bowlby cogeroxComment: I don't see a leaf, water, and green bowl. I see a cartoon duck.
I think you should have come up with a more interesting title for your photo. Frankly the photo isn't all that interesting, because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at. As it is now your title reminds the viewer that it's just a dying leaf floating on water in a green bowl.
Outside of this challenge a tighter crop might help bring focus. |
