| The lighting is not great. Sky is completely blown out with a bit of lens flare, and all of the texture of the rocks is lost in the shadows. Composition could have been simplified too, by leaving out the left third of the image. |

I'm not sure what is off in the distance to the right, but if it were me I would have tried to capture some of the vast openness. I think that would add to the adventureness of the photo and add to the minimalism. As it is now my eye follows the left brushy wall which I find distracting. The draw to photos like this for me is that the person out on the edge got there with a great deal of difficulty. By including the hill on the left that sense of danger fades, and I picture a trail and a parking lot on the otherside of the hill.
It's a good photo, but I think you could have gotten a big "Wow" factor by turning your camera to the right a bit. |
