The thumbnail does this image no justice. There's great lighting and detail here. I'm surprised there's not bumblebees all over the place. They seem to love the Lavender around here.

I'm drawn to the orange "windows" in the butterfly's wings. They remind me of stained glass windows. If this were my image I'd dodge some of the lighter ones to accentuate the stained glass feel.

Perfect flower and perfect exposure. The black background brings out the black bits in the center of the flower, but I wonder what it would look like with a different color as the background. The flower is so light and cheerful. Maybe a color similar to the light blue ring at the center in the green?

It's actually not overexposed in the original. It was my processing that accentuated the whites... on purpose.
