Kisses For Loving Handsby Purple_GirlComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Love the rattie's posture and catchlight in the eye as she tenderly grooms her co-owner. Good use of b/w and the gentleness of the hands shows through; don't need to see a face to see that this is a loving and mutual relationship. Lighting is very good, comp is a little on the safe side but this finished 20th, so not that objectionable :-) I was a little puzzled by the squiggly thing but realize now it must be Dione's tail. Glad to see that it healed well! Keep up the good work.

A witch's familiarby kimberlyMaiComment: Greetings fromt the Critique Club!
I had the feeling that this was one of your shots and that I might be critiquing it! Like that you're in profile and cat is more face-on to the camera. The b/w seems to enhabce the feeling you wanted to get, and glad that you didn't go over the top with a 'witchy' outfit. That the cat is black and white only helps break up the stereotype of a black cat as a witch's familiar.
Not so sure about the crop, but hard to see what else might have worked. The high-key lighting seems to work fairly well, and kitty doesn't look too upset at being cast in the role you've given her! It's always a lot of fun to critique your images, keep them coming.

4eyes,hairy legs and ginger.Good luck by PhilthyComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
The title of your image made me laugh because my bf, Magnumphotography, fits that descrip to a T, check out his profile and you'll see :-)
I do like the sense of depth that the flower gives but its shape doesn't automatically register as a flower; it may have been better to put the spider by itself on the tabletop, or even on a miniature set of some sort, have some fun with it. The greyish b/g is amorphous and tends to compete with the light colour of the flower for the eye. The spider itself looks quite colourful and friendly but yeah, spiders and bugs generally don't get much of a fair shake here...unless you're roz, also an Aussie. She's brilliant at macros and can definitely give you some pointers. I like the eye-level POV, it's a bit unsettling. Which is probably why I like it!
Overall not a bad finish at all for one of your first entries. Get Mr Spider out and have some fun shooting him/her in different areas, different focal lengths. Experiment and have fun and by all means keep entering imges that you like.

Susan

I may be small, but I dream bigby GUTomekComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
I have seen a yellow Hummer around where I live, so this made me smile. Nice lighting, like the use of a ski mag bg and pebbles and dirt to add some realism to the shot. Such attention to detail can add up to a lot here. Not usually a fan of frames but this one works nicely as it echoes the roof rack in terms of thickness and echoes the solidity of the truck.
My only real nitpick is, like bobnospum said, the lack of angle, and I think the crop is also a little tight. Cars are generally shot from a low POV and 3/4 profile, as it were, to the viewer; it shows off the lines of the vehicle to advantage.
Otherwise a decent shot and you clearly used a tripod to advantage. You can always reshoot following some of the advice given here and see what you think of the results. Good work, keep shooting!
