This is a wonderful and captivating image. The vignette is a bit heavy but it does well to obscure the scene behind the subject that seems to be very connected to, or at least in the mind (or heart) of the soldier. His stoic military stance compliments the beautiful dress frock and medals of the Marine uniform. The crop on the belt seems a bit close and given a bit of room on the bottom, the white of hat and the white of the belt would've really balanced the shot in a good way. The amount of noise I feel is a plus to the image as well. Very well done.

I am shocked to find that this image didn't ribbon. I can't imagine what more could be expected in a portrait. This is absolutely amazing on all aspects. Great shot!

This is an excellent shot all around. The street lights appear to be floating on their own and they, along with the bridge, appear to be protruding out from the base tower. The crop places all of the elements as an anchor at the bottom of the image and the empty space at the top is clean and smooth. Also unique about this shot is the absence of color - virtually greyscale except for the gold glow of the tower.

Two valid expressions. The subject on the left projects a wonderful confidence and a truly precious smile and the other a curious anger and animosity, yet both seem true, genuine and dignified. Good composition and exposure, deep emotion. Well done.

Picture Perfect. Great choice to go with a greyscale image. There is an incredible transition from detail to blur and the angles created by the position of the bodies provide not only visual interest, but stimulation as well. The youthfulness of the male figure exudes an innocence, yet the shapely form of the female is quite seductive, though it has no impression on him.

The duotone finish was the perfect choice for this image as was the wide DOF. The straight lines of the the models' hair, so uniform, stand in wonderful contrast to the chaos in the tines of the wheat. The angry look of the blond takes away slightly from the otherwise emotionless, or, at least contented feeling of the image. The starkness of the sky and the intrusion of the tops of their heads into that spaces adds a very interesting element to the overall image.

Excellent lines and layers in this image. The transition from deep blacks through the black/white/grey plaid to the lightly textured floor and ending with a backdrop of the smooth wall. This would make and excellent print as the small 640 size hides the details in the clothing. There is a wonderful casualness to the capture, yet it doesn't drop to triteness of a snapshot.

You've captured a feeling that is quite special - that of an older brother concerned with the well-being of his younger sibling - "My Brother's Keeper". The bunny on the left hangs as secondary to the focus on his brother. The offset positioning and large amount of white space is a portrait composition that I prefer.

What jumps out in this image is the slight increase in texture of the skin and the more intense look on the face of the subject on the left. The other looks younger and has a peaceful innocence to him. The mole becomes a point of interest that the viewer can't help but concentrate on. The lighting is incredible.

Unique and creative composition and crop and they come together very well. The ocular diagonal is slightly offset as though it is really the eyebrows that are in alignment, which stand in strong contrast between the blond and the brunette and the soft wave of hair vs. the more coarse hair. The glowing smoothness in their skin gives the image a soft-focus feel even though the focus is tack sharp.
