I know this is a photo of a stained glass window but it looks just like a painting. The detail is very good, and I like your idea of displaying on a section instead of the whole window.

The composition is what I particularly like about this photo. First of all the perspective of the building is very enhancing. The tree in the top right corner only fills in the space where there is sky. The reflection of the building is in the left building and the sky reflection in the right building. It is like a gradient layering effect going from top right to bottom left. Very effective!
