Ciggie break in the coldby kiwinessComment: Thanks for the comments. I had the guy turn the cigarette like that on purpose. I often see people holding their cigarettes like that when it is cold and windy outside so that it doesn't burn down so fast.
JJ you really have been around haven't you! |

From the Field of Battleby CANiSLAYuComment: Nice set up, especially with only the king and queen in focus. The crop is a little uneven and the white cloud over the top of the figures is a little strange. Otherwise a good pic! |

Fingering Ghostby kiwinessComment: Originally posted by ursula: You should teach Science, not English. A diamond cutter, I wonder if a Dremmel tool (sp?) would work. Did you try different kinds of lightbulbs? (e.g. 60V, 100V). That likely would not make a noticeable difference. |
I tried different kinds of bulbs but I found the larger ones burnt too bright. This one was a 40W bulb. |

Sky Highby AntithesisComment: A simple but effective photo. The orange toning you have brought into the image in the post processing comes over pleasantly. I like it. |

Fingering Ghostby kiwinessComment: I used a diamond cutter to cut the glass off at the base, so there was no chance of cutting myself. I used the full 220V and you have about quarter to half a second to take the photo.
The idea about the dimmer isn't bad Jörg! Maybe that way I can get the brightness of the burning wire down a bit. I would ideally love to do this again so that you can see the wire glowing red, and I think a dimmer might just do the trick. Thanks for the tip :) |

Real Royal Reflexion!by sergutComment: This is amazing. The perspective was well chosen with all those lines going off at angles and the reflection in the mirror. B&W works well here, good work (10) |

Sunset Silhouetteby iloveguamComment: This is a pleasant photo to look at. I love silohuette photos, especially if they are done well like this one (9) |
