Pemaquid Pointby markwileyComment: Wonderful detail in the rocks and pool. Pleasant LH reflection. The sky was not very kind to you. I think you managed it well, but the ridgeline trees are in deep silhouette and the sky sort of consumes the detail there. It's a very good effort. |

Daybreak on Fogerty Creekby skewsmeComment: The sky reflected in the water is quite bright relative to the brightness of the sky itself. Great fog wisps on the river. The acute angle to the sun has created quite a few silhouettes, which are interesting shapes and forms, but also represent lost detail in the shadows. |

Molika pines, Pelister National Parkby tomeComment: I like the sky Great clouds and nice gradient in the blue. I find the rocks in the foreground to be "too much" of the scene. I understand why you presented the portrait orientation. The peak to the valley beyond and below begs to be seen. I wasn't there, so maybe you are cropping out something in the distance. But, I would have preferred a landscape orientation with this scene, showing more depth into the distant valley. |

Glacial Remainsby Sunshine86Comment: Enjoyable scene to inspect. Good choice to use the foreground rock formation to ground the scene. It does create a three dimensional effect. The layering of lake, forest, mountains and sky are a pleasant combination. I would have liked to see a bit more clarity and contrast in the midrange to distant peaks. But, you can only capture what the day offered. |

Holsfjord before the rainby raishComment: Super great sky and clouds. Exceptionally good control of exposure throughout. The fjord and the surrounding shoreline provide an interesting base for the drama above. |

Wood's Edge, near Princeton, New Jerseyby mefnjComment: Elegant image which is highly representative of AA's style. Great lighting on the subject with dark bg to add emphasis up front. Not exactly sure why you mentioned Princeton, NJ in the title. (no points off, but it's not relevant to the challenge) |

Saving the Environment (or Destroying It?)by bobnospumComment: Could be a poster for the Sierra Club. The iconic barbed wire fence and the new age wind turbine are controversial. Threats to the wilderness. So, I like your subject choice very much. Pretty harsh light situation causing lots of silhouettes. Not a bad thing in this case, because the icons of controversy are well presented. I like your ground level pov. The vegetation adds a lot to this scene. The sky is pretty good with nice coud detail. |

Eagle Nest Lakeby pmichaudComment: Good use of thirds here. Absolutely love the interesting, detailed clouds and very natural sky gradient. While the foot path provides a leading line into the scene, I think it may be a net negative because it cuts up the foreground meadow. The forested hills are interesting. Rich tonal range. Don't know if you used color channels for your BW conversion, or not. If not, then that might have been a method to transform this nice scene into an even better monochrome. |

Low Tideby jbsmithanaComment: There is subtle elegance in the tones of the tidal waters. It is peaceful and interesting. Part of the sky is super interesting.... part is milky white. I do like the placement of the horizon line on the upper thirds area. The strength of the scene is the inclusion of foreground shore... giving the entire scene a three dimensional effect. |
