| 05/10/2002 12:25:00 AM | Apple does Windowsby AndyLeeG4Comment: A great idea, and seems well executed. B/W is a very odd choice here, though. The subject doesn't have the kind of tonal range that makes an interesting monochrome, and, since your product is a monitor, the missing color is a big negative. |
| 05/10/2002 12:32:00 AM | robot in your placeby gesellComment: Cool stuff. I don't know how well it works as an advertising image, but I like the lighitng you chose and you did a great job with the light trails in the bg. On my monitor it looks like a small positive gamma adjustment would bring out more detail in the shadows, but it's not absolutely necessary. Well done! |
| 05/01/2002 10:09:00 AM | over exposed selfby nbortonComment: Is the title a statement of intent, or an excuse? Doesn't really work either way. Sorry. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/01/2002 10:12:00 AM | Upwardby dlhComment: Nice and simple, but too flat tonally, unsharp and noisy. |
| 05/01/2002 09:39:00 AM | The Longest Mileby CoreyComment: You're now allowed to rotate to straighten, and probably should here. Nice leading composistion, and I especially like the triangles on the stairs. Gotta vote to disqualify, though, as this is taken from *below* the ground up. {jk} |
| 05/01/2002 09:41:00 AM | Stella By Sunlightby PauloComment: Is that the moon? Nice. Better, perhaps, with the tree coming from behind the dog's head (sort of going the same direction as her gaze) if possible. Good, sharp fur, and even a catchlight in her eye. |
| 05/01/2002 10:17:00 AM | Waiting to be free...by fsieradzkiComment: You got the camera down there and pointed up alright. Good sharpness. Lens flare detracts, as does the dark whatzit at R. |
| 05/01/2002 09:58:00 AM | Among White Diamondsby karmatComment: Tantalizingly vague. I'd prefer not to see the very bottom of the tube (gonna poke me in the eye if I'm not careful), and have a headache from reading 'diamonds'. Maybe a more off-center composition for this one? | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/01/2002 09:55:00 AM | Whoa Horsyby debcardComment: Unless you made this (and I assume you didn't - my apologies if you did), I don't see enough interpretation in the image to make it more than OPA (other people's art). Technically well done. You could push the saturation just a little for more pop. I won't vote it down for the above, just my thoughts. |
| 05/01/2002 03:39:00 AM | Spin Cycleby connieComment: Looks like a little color cast (yellow), and I'd like to see face, but I think this is one of the best takes on the challenge. |
