- - - -by krnodilComment: I love such an informal treatment of a formal scene. I especially like the sweet spot centered (on what appears to be) a broken facade of a raised bed and upon the only broken branch of the otherwise perfectly espaliered trees.
The fact that all lines lead to the focus point makes me think there must be a story there. Maybe both the broken branch and facade were simply the act of temporary insanity, or perhaps the gardener was peering over the fence into the neighbor's yard when he lost control of his pruning sheers.
This photo makes me want to know more, and for me it is the best kind of photo. |

dormancy by undieyatchComment: A great photo André. Life depending entirely upon the man-made cages, a prayer, to keep out the hungry deer. A tough life on the tree farm, and you have captured it brilliantly. |

Not a box of chocolatesby MelethiaComment: Outstanding job, Deb!
The missing painting above your subject makes it appear as if he is "Life Imitating Art". Or maybe he is actually a painting just coming to life and sampling his first cup of coffee.
In either case, this is a "shoot from the hip" masterpiece. |

Small Obstacleby pointandshootComment: Originally posted by LevT: wonderful minimalism. And a perfect rim light on your ant, did you shoot him in a studio? |
Lev, this was shot outdoors but I used a tripod and white board for fill, so it is almost a studio shot. I should have increased 1/2 stop for DOF. Thanks. |
