..people, cars, noise, peopleby dougi555Comment: wow. this is stunning. more like a mixed media work. absolutely fascinating. i fear this may be DQed, but that's beside the point. a great work of art, redolent with the many layered childhood experience. |

Six seconds on the Strand, Westminster (London)by Bruce_the_RobertComment: hey, it's bush house! i was knocked off my bike just 'round the corner from here (on lancaster pl.) and did my pelvis in! i really like the shot, and find there's nothing whatsoever wrong with the title being an intrinsic part of the whole. the history of modern art is full of works that use their title to make themselves relevant. don't worry about it. |

The travellerby purpleflutterby13Comment: a very nice shot, indeed. the flare may come from a bit of grub on the lens - something that wouldn't make a difference except on bright points of light in the dark, where there's no ambient light to absorb the flares.
on another point - travelling solo is wonderful; i agree completely. if you haven't read it, ' the blessings of a good thick skirt' is a super book about female travellers. i'd really recommend it. the title comes from an entry in the diary of a victorian adventurer. she fell into a lion trap - the pit kind with spikes poking up - somewhere in africa. however, her thick skirts and crinolines protected her from the spikes, and her porters came and pulled her out... |
