I think inverting the image just made the color sceme a little too unusual. I like the idea of circles and triangles, but I think the composition could have been better placed.

Personally, I'm suprised this didn't score higher. It's not a perfect pattern, but the flames are not over-exposed, the color tone is just right, it's a good composition, and the lighting on the candles is very appealing. I love your educating description, since a lot of people aren't sure what Chanukah is about, so it's nice that you can explain it.

I think a slightly tighter crop, a conversion to black and white, and more contrast would have made this so much better. I did a photo similar to this by using those editing steps:



Try editing it like that and I'm sure it will look awesome :)

I like her pose, but the straight-on flash isn't very appealing, especially since the blanket she's on is somewhat reflective. I wish the crop was a little more diagonal or in a way where you could see her whole body.

I like the almost grungy look to this. I think the focus is a little soft and the lighting could've been more dynamic, but I like it itherwise :)

How Many Patterns?

pattern-wise I think you met the challenge very well, evern though it might be a little busy. I love the colors, they have a very summery feel to them. The only thing I would wish could have been have changed was the sky being blown out, but editing was basic so you really couldn't have done much about that.

I really like the shading on the window frame, I thought it was a border you burned at first. I almost wish the window in the background wasn't there or was filling up more space. I think that might have helped your score quite a bit.

Although it's random, I like the idea. I think the lighting is verynice on the batteries, but there seem to be a lot of shadows in the background. Maybe a clean white background would have looked better and more commercial-like.

I like the background, but it's either too grainy or not grainy enough, I'm not sure. The lighting is blown out a bit on the actual battery is somewhat distracting.

Photographically speaking, I don't think this is a particularly bad. The lighting on the 'chest' and batteries is very good, however the left shoulder and the face is blacked out from the shadow, which people might have dinged you on. The color temp is a little too warm, but I appreciate the lack of noise and the idea, even though it might be controversial to some.
