Greyhound Racing by mtppComment: IMO, this image is much richer in story and detail than either the blue or red ribbon winners. Congratulations on your top three place. |

Hogwartsby marboComment: I remember visiting Lancing College in the 1980s. The rafters were full of bats and there was quite a bit of guano on the floor in places. The Saxon church at nearby Sompting is also a nice photo location. Nice work, as usual. Can only be Marbo, surely. Otherwise I will eat my hat. |

Flaxby indy79Comment: That is a wonderful photo, not only because it evokes a rather wonderful desolate feeling, but that it is an age-old sight. When flax is left to rot on the ground, it stinks to high heaven. Flax farmers allow the fleshy parts to rot and then collect what's left, the fibrous parts of the stems. These fibres are processed, softened, and made, eventually, into linen. Linen is one of the older fabrics in use for clothing, book binding and much more. Nice photo! But where is the location? Did you see the flax field in flower? Azure blue fields - very photogenic against blue skies and adjacent to a yellow field of flowering Rape (call it Canola if you need a euphamism). Windblownby TrynityRoseComment: The modern Mary Poppins. "When the East wind traded places with the West wind." I like the creativity excercised in making this image. |

Januaryby marboComment: Looking out over Lancing College, I think. Unless I am mistaken, it was from the downs you were standing on when taking this shot - or a nearby location - that hang gliding took off (so-to-speak) when it first came in to fashion. I lived in that area and did everything I could to get away after growing up - on to Cornwall, London, Greece, China, Taiwan, and the USA where my catharsis of travel got constipated. Looking at your great shots of the local area makes me wonder why on earth I never saw how lovely and exotic it is. "The other man's grass..." or whatever the saying is. |

Dreams of summers pastby nico_blueComment: Nice photo - ghastly watermark. If you're too afraid of image theft, why not decrease the size and leave out the watermark. |
