The plane is a special, precision instrument with an elegant, engineering profile. As such, your idea to use that tool was very good. I think that the background is a little overpowering though. I would also have been inclined to keep with warmer, perhaps golden, colours since they tend to be associated with trust, human labour, craft, guilds and etc.

You have captured an intimate space and shown it in its modern setting. Very nice photo. The silhouette is a very minor part of the photo. Your photo, as a whole, IMO, is excellent. As a photo of a silhouette content it is not so good. Rather than grade it way down, I am commenting but not voting.
