Exileby zeuszenComment: It looks so much like a negative world, like everything backwards. It's funny how the natural elements work inverted, but the man-made elements not quite so much. That's curious. It also kinda seems to change time perception. The roof, without inversion, would be quite bright, as would be, probably, the water, but inverted the roof and water look dark, as if in shadow, with light behind them. Almost like putting things in a different time slot. Not that it matters I suppose. I'm not sure that I "like" this whole thing, I think because to me, the "effect" (or what comes off as an effect) is taking over, and maybe also because it is the effect that makes the picture, not the scene itself. That shouldn't matter though. The effect is the picture. The picture is what it is regardless of how it was made. I'm trying to figure out what bothers me about this picture. It's pretty, it's attractive, it's (maybe) "different", and yet ... I don't know. I thought maybe it was that it felt too conventional, or even contrived, especially for you, but then I thought, no, that's not it either. What is it? Hehe, does there have to be a reason always? XTby zeuszenComment: It looks so sporty. Like a bunch of baseballs lost in an American football field. It also reminds me of a necklace I saw in Chicago, at the Museum, at an exhibit about diamonds. I think that's what I'm liking about this picture, it plays like crazy with my perception of size, proportion, and I quite like that, it's fun. |
