BTW, being that I'm a Cubbie, I'm so glad that Sandberg made it into the Hall of Fame this year. Yeah!!!! Message edited by author 2005-01-26 11:58:29. |

Day & Nightby dsidwellComment: I like it, but I wonder about two things.
(1) There are three layers here, the snow, the mountains, the sky. I'm wondering if the picture might be more "powerful" if there were only mountains and sky. I'm just curious about that.
(2) Even though the mountains are absolutely beautiful here, I find it a bit distracting that those to the right hand side of the picture (except far right) are in shadow, whereas those to the left are in light. I don't know, maybe the picture would be too "bland" if all were in light, but I'm just wondering about that.
Please don't get offended, it's a beautiful shot. It's just that those were the thoughts that came to mind in looking at it. |

Aspen Danceby dsidwellComment: Wow, beautiful shot, great title! Snowshoeing, eh? I have a question. In looking at this picture, the snow, the trees, it almost looks "sunshiny", yet there are barely any shadows. There even is a patch of light behind the trees, on the snow. The sun can't be that high in the sky in Utah in Winter, even at noon there should be shadows, right? How did you take this picture? The snow looks good. I'm talking to myself here. The trunks are dark, the trees are almost silhouette. But the snow is so good. The light must be coming from the left. I'm sort of baffled here. Oh well. We have so much snow here, I'm trying snow pictures; when there's no sun, they turn out "grey" for the most part. How did you take this picture? |

Ponchoby PedroComment: Wow! What a lovely shot! Fits the challenge wonderfully. My one, tiny nitpick is that the near side of the face seems just a touch soft, especially the upper part of the face. But I love the shot. 9 from me. |
