Only From Natural Fibresby faeryComment: Very inventive! Are those centimetres? They have to be. He, he, I like it that the pattern doesn't have seam allowances included, I never liked patterns with seam allowances. About the photo, it has a beautiful diagonal feel to it. It is a bit strange, and I'm not quite sure what the point of it is except humour, but I like it. ~8 |

Swirlby glodaComment: Beautiful! I like it how you managed to keep all the tips crisp and clean, while still having a very shallow DOF. I need to find out after the challenge what lens/f-stop you used, my attempts always have some straw tips not in focus, and it's very annoying. I really like it also how the further on the outside the straws are, the more they fade into white - works beautifully. ~10 |

dpcboat.jpgby MAKComment: Honest comment?
Could be improved IMO. The greytone sky gradient is very distracting. The little rock intruding at the bottom left also is distracting. The detail on the ship/castle is beautiful, all that beautiful detail needs to be integrated with a matching beautiful sky somehow; as it is, it looks weird. The heavy border is too much, takes away from the lightness of it all. Love the water part. |

Pretty In Pinkby TheresaAComment: The pink is beautiful, and the background is very white, but the flower is just floating there, no connection to anything. ~4 |

pinnedby sadiebirdComment: I think, for this image to work, both pins would need to be in perfect focus, or, one of them would have to be way more out of focus. Also, the background needs to be lighter. And last, the placement of the pins leads the eyes out of the image (to the right) rather than into it to explore the possibilities. I hope this helps. ~4 |

Quality You Can Tasteby DJWoodwardComment: Good idea. Looks like an image you'd work on for a cookbook. I'm not sure about the splash, it's too much for this image I think. Or, either concentrate on the splash or the still life. ~6 |

La Margherita Che Emette Luceby KenComment: Beautiful light on the daisy, great definition. Not sure if the squarish (not square, duh!) crop complements the image. I also think the yellow border doens't work all that well, it takes away from the lightness of the flower on the shite background.
Thinking about the border, I think it actually works. For one, it sets of the white beautifully. It also point to the yellow light in the middle of the daisy. Beautiful. Upping to 8. Message edited by author 2006-12-03 20:06:37. |
