You certainly managed to keep the "texture" only on the background, and it's a beautiful texture and photo. However, to my eyes (you're going to hate me), it has a sort of "pasted on" look that doesn't quite work here. But then, what do I know :)

Good idea, and you carried it out well. I wonder ... if the hand were not as defined, more like a cloud, like a hand forming out of the clouds, and maybe coming out and somehow down, as if reaching from the sky to people ... he, he, probably too corny, but it's an idea :)
