Ms. Nuthatch doesn't seem to understand how nests work, but you will find her book inspiring nonetheless, as she describes hundreds of delightful ways to waste an afternoon. I don't quite believe her when she says that if you don't call your children, they will eventually call you... but really... so what if they don't?

Crossing Swords

Tross's obsession with birds gets the better of him in his fifth avian novel. The open aggression of beak on beak action simply cannot deliver the same suspenseful terror of Hitchcock's birds, who seemed always waiting... waiting... and the scene where Kim Jong Un cancels lunch so he can watch two mourning doves peck each other stretches believability beyond the breaking point.
