Joy Luck Clubby whiteroomComment: Good triangular composition. Funny, there's so much talk of rule-of-thirds but hardly anyone mentions triangles. Great kids with wonderfully contrasting expressions. The two become so much more than the sum of their parts. I love how the "somber" one is so clearly repressing a laugh, or at least a smile. I'll start this at 8. |

Lake at duskby dippydazComment: if you make something too glossy, it has an immediate appeal, but doesn't let you into its depths. I want to study the cloud forms, but my eye keeps slipping on the gloss. 6 |

Sby Sunshine86Comment: fascinating mysterious composition. The S-curve is the most beautiful of lines. It is constantly suggested in this photo without definitively materializing. This is profound on a purely visual level. |

Threeby SimonjwComment: This is fun in a CD cover kind of way. The processing is a bit too pat for my taste. 6 |

Architextureby yantskiComment: I like how the sky is an intermediate grey, making it just another plane. |

A Life on the Streetsby Joey LawrenceComment: what is the distracting background on the left supposed to signify? I can't make it out. Don't push me so close to such a dynamic physiognomy. Give it some room to pulse. |

Lil' Cowgirlby -Bec-Comment: Too much space on the right. Forget the rule of thirds! Just do what looks right. I like the minimal use of context to show she's a cowgirl. 6 |
