technically, yes, I suppose you could say that art is artifice, that it imposes something artificial on the real, but I don't think it's necessary to put a filter on it. There is already art in what you are doing. That's the point of photography. The art is the framing, the choice of a space and time, and you chose well. but the filter is not assuring. the filter is numbing.

I like how his beard merges into the tree. I like how he towers over smokestacks. I like how he questions me. I like the background blur. there's something a little too crisp and HDR about this though. I don't need to see his every detail.
