Wowee, the cat lovers understood this one. Nice histogram! That is one terrific look and I absolutely love the right side whiskers - it's like they are conforming to the frame! You must tell his/her name.

I think the sepia treatment really works here - gives it a nice vintage look. My favorite aspect of the photo is the geometry - the way Ranger's body is pointing one way but his snout is pointing at right angles away. His eyes, although shiny and sharply in focus, are also dreamy and distracted. For me this look in his eyes ties in with the vintage processing - gives him a timelessness. Yeah, I'd frame this if he were my pooch :)

Melethia I worked long and hard on that pan - and I'd bet you are underestimating your own artistic talents again ;-) Maybe we need a decrepit cookware side-challenge! p.s. apple head is safe and shrinking away. Bear I think you will get extra points for WS. CC you hit it on the head - Looks like nosferatu to me tu! For anyone who might doubt it still, Posthumous is indeed an amazing artist.

Well he looks a bit calmer here ;-) You composed this really nicely because I am immediately drawn to the left eye and this anchors the image for me. From there I am admiring his beautiful strawberry blonde fur (great color capture), then travel down that longish snout to bounce off the wet black nose. I like how you and Bob have managed to portray different sides of Jack's personality within the constraints of a tight head shot. Congrats on breaking the 5 barrier so early!

I like the focus on the nose and mouth - as cosprenks says - this is exactly how we see the pooches when they're in our faces. In fact, when I'd take a pic like this of my old doggie - that nose would soon be right on my lens if I kept pointing without petting! DOF is fine to me - and I really like how the background is all dark around his head. Fun shot!

Fast forward to Spring. It's the view seen by a person lost in thought, lying on the grass, hands locked behind the head, one knee bent... while passive, poofy white clouds slip by. No cars honk, no children wail. No breeze rustles the no leaves. Even those darn geese have put a sock in it... and so absorbed were you by this overwhelming silence, you never noticed that them birds pooped all over the grass you're lying on.

Don't let the poopers destroy your serenity.

This was my high scorer for the grey challenge - very interesting comp and catch. I like your crop - I guess the only thing I wonder, as far as DPC values go, is whether the blue sky could have been brought out in a way that would contrast the birds more. Great shapes and expressions - I think there must be an ancient Asian fairy tale about this picture somewhere. Sorry about the undeserved score.

Like a character from the cartoon King of the Hill, come to life. He is alive, isn't he? Great specs.

Reminiscent of a watercolor painting, nicely composed, good POI.

Normally I would hate the painted processing but it seems to work for this image. I'd prefer it cropped just below the white framed access door on the top.

Utterly delightful. If I could say why, it would reveal too much about my inner being.

Best title in challenge. Oddly enough, though I can't abide the processing I still love the underlying photograph. If it really was a painting it would be a good 'un.

Punky soft, geometric barn wood frames bovine rendered in layers of summer seasonal water colour.

Too far from photography for me. However, unlike another photo in this challenge that I mentioned I liked but wouldn't hang on my wall, I'd hang this one.

wow--a beautiful image. The effect is so complete, so strong, that I mentally switch between thinking I am seeing a photograph processed to look like a watercolor, or a watercolor that has been photographed. The rich reds, particularly in the lower part of the image, are beautiful.

I really like the colors and textures of this. The cow and shed is a "picture within a picture" that is balanced by the white-outlined door on the upper right. I just wish the railing weren't there; it pulls me out of the picture to the right.

Love the title. Love the image (as distinct from its processing). Am lukewarm on the "art" filter, I rarely care for images that have been processed to look like paintings. In this particular case, it actually works quite well for me, in the context that I usally *hate* the effect, but still... I'm wondering what the *real* picture looks like?

Regardless, well seen! Great title! The flirtatious cow, what a concept!

I can see this on a wall... easily ... with some modern furniture ... adding spice to it all. I'd have removed the eartag... but that's it.
