Good timing on snapping this one... just a tad out of focus, but the eagle's wing position is great with the outstretched feathers.

Ladybug could use a bit more color to make her stand out a bit...perhaps bump up the reds a tad?

A bit too dark... I'd like to be able to see more details in the front of the picture.

Excellent use of border to "push" the picture inward and give that drowning feeling. Wonderful capture of action and facial expression as well. If I had to be picky, perhaps hands doing more flailing might also have helped to convey this phobia. Very well done.. one of my top picks for this challenge! Good luck!

Clever.. creative.. whimsical and unique! This photo would have stood on it's own very well I think, but the title adds just one more piece to it. Love the background lines that are perpendicular to the chains hanging down, and the perfect focus on the chain. One of my favorites from this challenge! Nicely done and good luck!

How did you manage to find all of those birds posing so nicely for you? The composition is great with the line of posts and the railing both leading into the focal point. I think the only thing lacking in this picture for me was the dull color. The swan biting the duck's tail on the right is also kind of silly! I gave this one a 9. Good luck!

Shallow DOF.. yes. I like the amount of blur that you captured in the background. Just enough to tell what is back there, but enough to make the main subject stand out. The composition is also good with the placement of the focal point and the lines leading into it. What I find unappealing about this shot is the subject matter. Had the leaves still had a bit of color left to them, it might have been different. Good luck!

Shallow DOF... yes. Unfortunately, I don't think it helped to make anything stand out in this shot. It's just 3 coins on a table. For me, there's nothing very intersting or exciting in this one. The lighting right around the front coin is too bright and I think it detracts from the detail in the coin. Good luck to you!

The title helps to add some emotion to this photo, otherwise one might wonder why a picture of a person sleeping. There are 2 things I find a bit unnatural about this shot. My thoughts are "why did they decide to focus THERE?", and "warm flannel pajamas and no BLANKET?" I suppose the focus was to make sure that there was a part of the picture out of focus both in front of and behind the focal point. Perhaps something more interesting there then? Just some thoughts to ponder. Good luck to you!

This photo has a lot of things going for it.. the composition, placement of the one tiny leaf, and its general simplicity leaving the viewer feeling almost sorry for this last leaf. However, I think the lighting on the leaf is a bit dark, which leaves the viewer also trying to determine if it really is in focus and therefore completely meeting the challenge. I don't know what colors you were originally working with, but perhaps leaving the color would have also helped to make this one "pop!" I think the other downfall of this photo happens to be that there were so many photos with similar subject matter. Best of luck to you!
