This is probably the photo I have returned to the most of all images in the competition. I was initially drawn to the smiley face, but the image is SO much stronger than that! The title is perfect for the photo, the design and exposure is impeccable - it's a 9 from me.

That said, I think it'd be even better if you cloned out the smiley face, replacing it with the middle pane of the window to our right. Did I say I love this photo? It talks to me and intrigues me every time I see it. (At least 11 times so far!)

Selective desaturation is always subject to the viewer's interpretation, but generally, one expects the solitary color to stress the most important part of the image. This is a tender Madonna & child type image, but to me, the pacifier is what is being showcased.
