I wish you hadn't cut off the bottom of the ornament -- still a pretty picture.

Excellent job making us feel the fear. I almost get vertigo looking at this.

Is there anything in focus in this picture? Maybe a little bit of the straw in the upper right? A nice idea, but would have been eye-popping if you'd had a really clear focal point.

Very nice narrow DOF but there's no subject really -- you create a focal point with the focus, which is better than none at all, but still, this would be a far better image if there were something of interest as the focal point rather than being a photo of whichever grass blades wound up in the area of focus. (I say this with kindness and appreciation because I totally take this kind of picture all the time.)

Good picture; would have been more effective, I think, if the focus was on the ball, but I respect your right to make your own artistic focus decisions. :)

ehh, I'm torn. You do have a shallow depth of field here, but then you went and desaturated selectively as well, which almost takes away from the effect of the shallow dof and turns it into an effect of selective desaturation. I do like the image very much, just trying to decide if the selective desat is kind of a cheap shot (but very effective, visually.). OK. Giving this an 8 because it is such a compelling image and you did meet the challenge criteria.

This is a pretty image, but unfortunately, even though the dof is shallow, your subject gets lost in the lights behind it.

I know you'll hear this a lot, but I figured since I'm an early voter I'd go ahead and say it-- the subject fills the frame so completely, and so much of it is in focus, that there's very little sense of shallow dof here. (I like the light though.)

Pretty picture; no noticeable shallow depth of field, however.
