| 02/07/2003 09:19:05 AM | Shrivelledby JeanComment: Please don't take this wrong, but it almost looks like some kind of bug or sea creature. If you had played with the colors, you could have passed it off as something other than a flower..For a photo of a dead flower it is very pretty. That was a compliment. Hate to have to explain myself all the time. I really like the inside part of the flower, and wished you had zoomed in on it. It wold make a beautiful photo by itself. As far as what you did photograph, it is well done. Beautiful natural colors, good ighting, nice cropping, good focus, borders look nice and add a finishing touch. A well done nice photo. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 09:11:52 AM | Floral Arrangementby jgillardComment: Nice floral still life. Nice piece of art work. Not real happy with the place mats it's sitting on. Wold have looked nice on the table cloth, especially since it goes so well with the top let corner. Beautiful arrangement. My sinuses can't take the ecucolyptis. The background is different, but I like it. Nice one. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 09:07:54 AM | Winter Houseby MattWComment: Didn't I see this house before, or one just like it? This is not an interesting house or shot, but I like it. The reason I like it is ridiculous. I like it shot through the tree like this. I love the tin roof. Nice job of keeping the horizon level. Looks like a dreary day. Nice photo. |
| 02/07/2003 09:05:18 AM | Muster Flowersby bobgaitherComment: I really like this photo, the focus, the depth, the cropping, the color, the photo, the , the, the,,,,,,I really like it. This is a piece of art, and a very nice one.. But I hafta know, what kind of flower is this and what is it used for? This is obviously a farm, or orchard, of it. Appears to be grown to harvest and sell. Or is it just planted in some kind of orchard or even vineyard? lI hope you tell us more about this one. Beautiful piece of work, well done. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 08:59:09 AM | In Shining Armorby inspzilComment: Like the idea and the glint sparkling off the clear crystal. Don't like the cropping at all. The frosted pieces should have been either all in the dark out of focus or light on all of it. Whatever is light reflecting in the bottom left corner is distracting. Good idea and consept, just needs better execution. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 08:55:26 AM | Magenta Feelings in a Savage Gardenby Gracechild7Comment: To me you have your dof reversed. The flower, subject, is in the background, nicely focused, behind an out of focus leaf. BUT with your title, that is obviously intentional. Not sure how I feel about that or how it will go over. I have very mixed feelings about this. I'll give your credit for coloring outside the lines. And you did it very well. Just not sure personally, how I feel. It's not really appealling but there is something about it that holds your attention. I believe you have accomplished what you intended. For that you deserve a 10. For the photo itself I think, as is and as a photok, it deserves a 5. Together they get you a 7.5 | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 08:49:50 AM | Innocenceby magnetic9999Comment: Nice touch having the spot light, so to speak, on the bloom. Works well here. To me this photo is very artistic and more a piece of art than a photo. That is a compliment, if you didn't recognize it. Not a 10 or ribbon winner, but a very nice piece of art, that could grace a wall nicely. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 08:46:58 AM | The old "flower cliché"by xertionComment: Love the constrast between the two flowers. Wish the one on the left had the bad petals pulled off and leave the one on the right as is. Nice background for this shot. Add to the shot well. Too tightly cropped on the sides. Like the cropping on the top and bottom. Of course you know all of our comments are really just our personal opinions, more than photographic techology. You can't help but have your personal likes and dislikes from entering in. From a technical standpoint, I think you did very well. Technical and personal added together gives this a 6. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/07/2003 08:38:43 AM | picture perfectby Wheeler1992Comment: Cute idea. His whole head needs to be in the frame. Brighten, not lighten, it up some. Don't take me wrong, but it has a snap shot fee; to it. Nice memorabilia and all, but belongs in a family album. But maybe that is really what a "cliche" shot is. Love the baby photos hanging on the wall. The shelf is a bit cluttered. Cute picture. |
| 02/07/2003 08:34:54 AM | Missing Sunsetby crabappl3Comment: Crop out the background from the sword over and this is a beautiful piece of art. The facial expression is worth a million dollars. Don't know what your thoughts or intentions were when you picked the things for this shot, but your imagination and artistic talent are top ranked. LIke the dark background,. With the light as it is, this photo has a rich tone to it. Can't imagine what the title has to do with the photo, but cropping out the distracting part of the background makes this a ribbon deserving, 10 rated piece of art. As is it is well worthy of an 8. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
