A very ominous feeling from this shot - that's a good thing. Really draws you into the picture. Nice black and white contrast.

I'm picking this as a favourite, because it is just so distinctly South African. It's just a typo, but it reminds me of how Afrikaans people sometimes translate English: "Hy het die pad diep gegrawe" - "He did grave the road very deep". :-)

It was never going to be a prize winner, this one, but as you look back on your portfolio now, I'm sure you think fondly of how you started out.

The DOF needed to be deeper - getting sharp focus at hyperfocal distance would have improved this image. Also, there doesn't seem to be enough contrast - the lighting seems flat.

Beautiful staircase shot. I like the way the light shines on from the windows on each floor on the way down. The rhythm in the photo is excellent. From a distance, it looks like an evil eye. Well done.
