Ah, I see now! Thanks for that :)

Language of the Ancientsby blackgriffinComment: Yes it is. But is this a good photograph of it? No. The light is dull and murky and the angle/point of view is uncomfortable. At the end of the day, you've haphazardly snapped off a shot of someone else's work, devoid of any real interaction by you the photographer. |

School Girl Gone BADby okkyComment: Ok, it's a little cheeky, but meets the challenge. What lets it down heavily though, is the snap shot feel to it. The glare from the flash on the door is severe. The door itself was probably a bad choice for background anyway. Then you've chopped off her feet.... and wrapped the image up in a fuchsia border.
How to minimise the glare from flash, would be to diffuse it. Tape a bit of tissue over the flash next time and try that. Or better yet, go outside! I can't help thinking this set up would have been awesome had she been posing outside a school... |

The Universal Tongueby BigKComment: I understand what you were going for in relation to the challenge, and that's fine, but I just can't do snot. I can, only just barely, handle specks of dirt or food on faces. But why on earth are you showing me this child's mucous? Were there no tissues handy? Would the boy have stopped crying if you wiped his nose? Sorry, I just don't know what else to say...

Post challenge edit: Because you shouldn't make assumptions... I was already a parent while you were still looking up girl's skirts in the school yard.

SUPER Powersby cup4tmlComment: Wow, those scores are a bit rough, eh?
I realised pretty much straight away that it was a cut-out. Not hard to tell given the odd discolouration. With this in mind, it was easier for me to let go of doggedly trying to work out where the light was coming from, and enjoy what you had done with the laser. Guess others weren't as relaxed about it.
The laser is not just the main light source, it's the only light source AND the main subject. Which means, Superman is rightfully the main subject as well, since HE IS the source of light, duh. The whole "not the main subject" issue, is really a bit over the top and I suspect bandied about by those who want to justify their vote.
Sheesh people, just chill and enjoy the fun stuff for a change...

Focused by NuzzerComment: Well crap, if that's how people feel about a wee bit of noise, I'm going down big time in the March fs. Oh wait... I'm probably brown toast any way, lol.
Heh, you should have said the noise was deliberate, you were going for the arty high ISO film grain look ;) |

A "Second" Glass, Pleaseby dswannComment: Methinks you've been tricksy here and made some jelly, otherwise I'm not sure how you got the pour so detailed at 1 second! ;) And I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a bilious yellow background for a wine glass shot before... That's certainly unique! :D
edit to clarify: Not saying it doesn't meet the challenge, just that I'm too dumb to work out how you've done it. Oh, and did I mention the bg colour? Yeah, may have to bump you up a couple of points for that offence alone ;) |

Electric Angelby JutildaComment: There is no limit on creativity. No two images can ever be the same. Isn't it wonderful? I can't get enough of happy accidents like this. Superb image.
Perhaps she is Athropos, cutting the thread of life? |
