Image of wine (really cranberry juice) poured into glass, movement frozen by using external flash with rear curtain firing onto background. Actually starting pouring the wine about 1/2 second into the 1 second exposure to keep from getting too much juice in the glass.

This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: I like the postiion of the strong subject right in the middle.

color: the contrast of the red to the yellow really creates an interesting image, very vibrant!

contrast: good contrast between the edges of the glass and the background, very easy to discern the juice too.

focus: perfect focus, everything is tack sharp

depth of field:--

lighting: great use of lighting, its very hard to not get glass to shine like crazy in a situation like this.

other: overall, a very well executed image, i love the vibrant colors, they really catch your eye. Also, the sharpness of the juice in the glass is beautiful. Congrats on your finish, its very well deserved. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me anytime.

A good stop action image, or one that appears to be stop action.

admitted, if you shoot in full darkness with a flash, you can use a 1-second exposure, but I think this is kind of bending the challenge rules. this pretty much looks like an effective exposure of 1/200th or shorter. for that, not bad, though

Methinks you've been tricksy here and made some jelly, otherwise I'm not sure how you got the pour so detailed at 1 second! ;) And I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a bilious yellow background for a wine glass shot before... That's certainly unique! :D

edit to clarify: Not saying it doesn't meet the challenge, just that I'm too dumb to work out how you've done it. Oh, and did I mention the bg colour? Yeah, may have to bump you up a couple of points for that offence alone ;)

Beautiful...but I seriously doubt a 1-second exposure can thus freeze a liquid. But is it liquid?

Looks a bit too much like jelly to my eyes, but the colour scheme and lighting is pleasing.

That was a full second? I'd have expected to see more "movement" from the wine. Nicely done, though.
