In a themed challenge this would have scored a lot higher, I bet. No northern light, big cat or sky for free study - hey. That said - this is an awesome shot. Love the contrasts and the composition - very wonderful.

Regarding candids... I just shoot without shame and so far nobody has protested. The only time I was yelled at was when I took photos of a truck. So try it. Also, if you point your camera at people for a while, they lose interest and start going about their business - et voila! A candid!

Wildly underrated, Roz!!! The flames are beautifully captured. The impish face behind the smoke is awesome. Stupid voters. Interestingly, the commenters voted this photo very high - huge difference to the final outcome.

My god! These are awesome!! Congrats on the ribbon - but the outtakes are to die for, too. I'm a big cat fan and a fan of big cats - these photos make me drool.

This just cracks me UP! It's like she's posing as a stuffed animal with the same blank stare as they button eyed ones. You could have also called it "camouflage". Very creative!!
