Missed Santa... Again!by TCGuruComment: What a wonderful set-up and love your attention to the details when telling the story:-) The little girl by the tree has fallen asleep with the book in hand and dreams of santa & presents in her head (like that little smile she has). Love the place card with Santa's name on it and the cookie crumbs giving us a clue that he had already been there and left. Colors and detail are great!! The book is Dr. Seuss...Green Eggs and Ham. Hmmm, while the food reference is a nice nod to the eaten cookies and the crumbs left on Santa's plate wouldn't "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" been a better choice (especially with the lines refering to crumbs...not even for a mouse and Cindy Lou Who)? |

Do you believe in magic?by JutildaComment: Do you believe in magic?
Yes, it starts with just one tiny spark...
Love the cool 'electic' blues in this composition. The addition of that one little sparkle to the tiny bulb held between two fingers adds the 'magic' to your capture. |

8-dec 08 wotever. aliby rozComment: Wow! The overlay and postprocessing really brings out the differences in light and shadow. The contrasts are really evident in the hair and the dress. The texture overlay really adds to the sense of touch...that this is an old photograph touched by time and the elements. |

7.12.08 Smilesby suemackComment: B&W tones are good but I think it could use jussst a touch of brightness contrast adjustment for the lighter tones of the dog to pop more off of the dark backdrop (in other words lighten the light tones and darken the darker ones) I really like the subject of the photo...nice candid capture. The sparkle in this delightful doggie's eyes and the wide open mouth really gives us the feeling she is happy, happy, smiley, smiley. This is a really happy feel photo. |

7dec3812by Pug-HComment: With the colors and the texture I see I am guessing that this is some type of squash. Interesting color mix and some texture on the skin. Wish it had a tad more contrast to really pop more visually. Contrast is good on the dark top portions but could use more on the lighter bottom ones that look a tad washed out. |

Oncoming Stormby qvfd153Comment: Very stunning!!!! Love the colors of the dark & moody sky and the the color hues of the rich desert floor. The mountains rise up out of the desert to touch the sky but they also capture our attention. Beautiful capture of this mesmerizing landscape. Well done! |

VA State Birdby MaryOComment: Although the subject is not in tack sharp detail the softness of the cardinal almost lends itself to soft brush strokes of a paintbrush. It also helps convey the feel of touch - that the feathers of this bird are silky soft. I love the bold soft reds that color the otherwise muted scene. It is the splash of red that automatically draws our eye. My only critique is that I wish that it was a tad brighter overall so that the back half of the bird is not so dark compared to the sunlight front. |

Old Fashioned Peppermint Sticksby TCGuruComment: Wow! The whites and reds of those peppermint sticks really pop of the brilliant blue backdrop. Our eyes are automatically glued to the candy...or should I say 'stuck' given that they can be a very sticky treat. Very sweet image with brilliant color to captivate the eyes, tasty main subject (yummy:-) ) , and wonderful sharp crisp details. Love the white stripe that cuts through the red text which is a nod to the peppermint sticks. |

Sparkleby JutildaComment: Love the little 'sparkles' that add that little magic to this alicorn (pegasus/unicorn) ornament. Sharpness and color tones are wonderful. |

#cinq - Up Up Up and Awayby bobonacusComment: Perspective is very different and interesting! It makes the viewer feel tiny in the presence of such tall trees not to mention because of that feeling you 'place' us there to experience it. What would be an interesting project is to return to the same exact location to take pictures of the other seasons (autumn, winter, spring & summer) for the complete set. |
