Autumnal Mood by h2Comment: The color is stunning. Absolutely wonderful golden hues in this photo composition. Love the details in the foliage in the up close shots and the middle shot just completes the beauty. A crisp, cold, gorgeous golden day spent relaxing at the lake watching the ducks while bundled up nice & warm in a jacket. |

firetrail in the mistby rozComment: This is absolutely stunning! The mood is eerie, otherworldly and mysterious yet is beautiful to behold. It invokes the idea of stumbling upon the hidden gateway to the world of the elves. Love the dark bluish tones for they add to the mood and feel of this photo. Lovely work. |

A Rainy Night in Parisby scarbrdComment: I saw this in the "Paris Must Sees?" thread last week. Love the mood captured of viewing the Eiffel Tower. The warm glow of the city lights and the lights illuminating the tower contrasts with the cold feel of a rainy wet night shown by the observers with umbrellas. As I was enjoying looking at your photo, inspiration struck me - it was that 'X' made by that prominent middle umbrella:-) |

In His Elementby LVicariComment: Lighting and pose are excellent. Love how you 'caught' him in a mid-stride pose as he treks through the woods. Not only is this an great full portrait photo but you managed to invoke two seasons in the shot:-) That 'spring' green jacket of his really pops off from the natural setting of 'autumn' colors. |

Ivories over downtownby Yo_SpiffComment: I absolutely loved the angle and the reflections of the city in your photo composition. The B&W is an excellent choice for color would have taken focus away from the reflections of the city and the piano. B & W tones are very dynamic. First sight of this photo and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue starts playing in my head - the big city and the piano just invoke that musical piece. My only nit - damn she has to get critical now:-) - is that I wish you shot this slightly lower such that the bar that cuts the window fell right under the sweeping edge of the piano. The reason is that it gives nice clean lines for the eye to follow without a broken pattern. The eye would follow the line of keys to the vanishing point. Then it follows the curve of the piano at that end to sweep off and connect nicely to the straight line of the window pane. |

Youthby gsalComment: The image grain, B& W presentation, and the off kilter angle of this young girl gives this a very artsy type feel. A quick capture of a fleeting moment is what the mood feels - I get that from the angle this is presented in. Love the B&W treatment - the feelings of nostalgia and 'a captured moment in time to be cherished' would not work in color I feel. I didn't know what the object was in the top left corner til I read the description. The partial soccer ball is odd - I wonder how it would have looked with the full ball there and would it have detracted attention from the young girl. |

Good Morning Starshineby banmornComment: The oranges and golds are nice and vibrant especially when it pops off that black backdrop. Lighting is good such that it not only shows off the beautiful colors but shows off all the great texture details in the petals. |

Christmas In Osloby scarbrdComment: Love the lighting and the mood. Very festive and with the field of umbrellas one can almost feel the raindrops as we venture forth into the scene. |

Three Peas in a Pondby bspurgeonComment: Greetings neighbor (making it a practice to comment on those near to my entry in the challenge results)!!! The color of water is like liquid sunshine! Love those rich golden tones. Good eye in spotting this moment - one head of a duck submerged underwater, but THREE! Very much captures a 'monkey see, monkey do' kind of moment. Good composition to have the reeds act as 'bookends' to showcase the main subjects in the middle. It subtley calls our attention back to the ducks. |

Prague Sunsetby shalrathComment: Greetings neighbor (making it a practice to comment on those near to my entry in the challenge results)!!! I love the colors here and the interesting angle in which you composed your shot. What I feel most when I look upon this image is the sight and smells of a day spend strolling along taking in the beautiful scenic views of this place. The sun is about to set and as one walks along appreciating the view there is the wonderful aromas of food being prepared. With tired feet we happily follow to find a place to eat and rest. |
