Arctic Lighthouseby orvaratliComment: Wow, that is a pretty dense aurora borealis. Ironically it seems to be mimicking the ocean below breaking like waves accross the starry sky. Ocasionaly there is a break in the waves to show the 'sandy' starry night sky. Love the addition of the lighthouse to the composition for it adds visual interest and acts as a dividing line separating sky and sea. Very well captured and composed. |

What Big Eyes You Have!by bobonacusComment: So many fine details in this shot of the frog peering out from the flower petals. The spotted skin and the texture of its head is something that I marvel at as well as being drawn to those big bulbous eyes. The splash of red of the petals introduces color to the shot increasing the visual appeal. Lighting is great and while this is an above average shot but there is just something missing...some 'umph' to push it into the exceptional category. |

smallby rozComment: As always the colors and details of this insect are brought right up front for all to see and appreciate:-) This shot really captures the micro world that one may pass by everyday and not know it. The drama of struggle of the fittest and fastest plays out with this bug eat bug world you show us. |

Sunset at Warren Dunesby taterbugComment: Beautiful warm tones of orange and gold in that sunset over the water. Tones are nice and rich. Silhouette of the tree with it's bare branches reaching for the sky is a nice addition to add visual interest to the composition. Bumping up. |

Bright Lights of Time Square NYC by benficaComment: Like New York the bright lights and big city can be dazzling and overwhelming. I do like how you composed the shot to have the street act as a leading line that travels off unto the vanishing point in the distance. It helps give this a sense of grand scale that it just goes on and on. Colors are a tiny bit oversaturated. I did say that the scene feels a bit overwhelming...I think there might be a little too much sharpening or Topaz to bring out extreme detail. While this may not be a problem with a say 16x24 print hanging on the wall it becomes too much to drink in on the small scale. Still tis an above average shot. |

Family Portraitby DCNUTTERComment: What a great moment to find and capture! All these cats slumbering in the window box is so adorable! The B&W treatment was, I believe, the best choice. Color would have been too distracting on the eye - this way the cats in the box (cat in the box...wonder if one is called Jack;-) ) are more prominent. Not to mention the details, shapes and textures in the environment of the shot is much more present. |

Magical Momentby LikhariComment: Great capture of the fireworks over the Disney Castle! The colors and hues of the fireworks and the castle look fantastic and pop off the page. My biggest plaint is the size does not allow me to fully appreciate the details of this captured moment. Larger, I am sure one can get some really lovely details on the castle - bring us closer for everyone likes a front seat to best see all the action. |

On Dutyby v5planetComment: Guarding the capital and the Great Monument, he stood there at the ready. Great silhouette of the on duty policeman as he overlooks the capital. This is a slightly above average shot but increasing the dynamic range of the B&W tones would bump it into the exceptional category. Aside for the silhouette of the officer the rest of the photo appears a bit flat in the range of tones. Playing with Brightness/Contrast or adjust Shadows/Highlights/Midtones would greatly help boost the dynamic range. I would say that playing with the elusive S-curve would do the trick as well, but I still have not figured out how to do that in PP. |

Photographer's Paradiseby william88Comment: Love the leading lines of the tulips as they guide my eye to the horizon to marvel at the beautiful colors of the hot air balloons taking flight. The beautiful reds and yellows of the floral floor are picked up and complemented in the various colors of the balloons. Yes, indeed this is a wonderful and beautiful moment to fire off some photos like this photographer here is doing. Makes me wish I was along side to drink in the sights live and take some photos of my own:-) Very beautiful photo along with some great memories I'm sure. |

Lonely Coyoteby zymaraComment: I definitely get the sense of the great wild in this capture. The great expanse of the wildness spreads out before me as I gaze at the snow-capped mountains. Suddenly there is a haunting and errie howl. I look down into the valley below and see a lone coyote. Man, this must have been a wonderful thing to experience live - I'm a little envious but glad you caught the moment so it could be shared. My only little plaint is that I wished this was in a horizontal presentation to get a stronger feel of the great wide expanse of this wilderness. |
