Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
What a frame!

Composition:

This is nice .. centred as it needs to be ... but the impression of a love heart adds to the composition.

Subject:
meets the challenge - in face you nailed it.

Technical (Colour and light):
Great ... I like the relfections of light on the shoes as well ..

To grow its vote?:
I find it hard on a top five to think how to improve ... take note of the other commemntors though :)

Summary:
Gorgeous ... really good solid shot.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:

Love the de-sat (can't often say that) ... and the smile on her face ... she may have been nervous but she did well.

Composition:
I liked this ... you have the bottom rails on thirds which is nice ... having it with her a little further into the shot may have created a leaving something as well as a going somewhere impression.

Subject:
Crikey this meets the challenge and does it good.

Technical (Colour and light):
I really think that this look works well for this picture.

To grow its vote?:
as mentioned above ... that is all i can think of.

Summary:
I think thsi is really lovely .. and I hope you looked after your model after she fell off.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Ok .. so you are sick of seeing ... "where did you get all those pick feathers" .. I am surprised you just didn't admit killing a pink flamingo!

Composition:

not bad .. I would have like the shows to hit the thirds a little better .. but they are nicely hidden in the feathers.

Subject:
Yup meets the challenge.

Technical (Colour and light):
Nice lighting ... interesting colour, interesing use of DOF ... some liked others didn't .. . so that is reflected in the voting ... it is however a nice shot.

To grow its vote?:
Think about the location of the shoes in the bluster of feathers ... trying a number of different crops till one falls right may also help.

Summary:
Your highest score so far - and you only had hours - you are improving .. can't wait to see more of what you manage in a week.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

How am I meant to do this .. you got the blue!

First Impression - the most important one:
I really thought this was cool ... such a true kiwi number 8 wire job.

Composition:
I discussed quickly with the lover .. and he said it wasn't sharp ... but I figure it is hard to make a chicken stay still!

Subject:
Meets the challenge with great gusto.

Technical (Colour and light):
I love the colours and natural lighting.

To grow its vote?:
Like you can!

Summary:

Bloody hell bandit you give us kiwis something to aim for ... :) well done.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

Just a note when I do a critique, I go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting - somtimes it is nice for these details also to be included in the photographers comments.

First Impression - the most important one:
Using what you got did you good!

Composition:
I really like this composition - It has really strong lines .. and good colours in it.

Subject:
Only partially meets the challenge - bi-focals I am not sure these are ... this has been reised by others who commented and may have affected your score - although not greatly I think .. but just a small details helps to improve things.

Technical (Colour and light):
I really like the lighting and the colour is fantastic ... this is a sexy shot!

To grow its vote?:
Using the right stuff (if these are I apologise) - a little rotation may have have helped ... I think to the left .. to make the shot standing not look like it is on an angle.

Summary:
Great shot ... good shooting.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.

First Impression - the most important one:
I really thought this was great .. a nice play on words .. and a good complementary colours.

Composition:
I think that you have cropped this well ... It is a little too centred for my true liking ... but I think this is learned through learning the rules of photography like the rule of thirds.

Subject:
meets the challenge and does it nicely.

Technical (Colour and light):
some have said the colours are flat but I think they are not bad ... it is a good Depth of Field ... and I like the focus for this picture.

To grow its vote?:
Keep thinking about your shots and how you crop things .. sometimes by having a slightly less zommed in shot and creating a wider berth around the image creates a lovely feeling of it being larger than it is ...

Summary:
I think this is a good solid shot... for 24 hours you did really good.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers
