::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:

Love the de-sat (can't often say that) ... and the smile on her face ... she may have been nervous but she did well.

Composition:
I liked this ... you have the bottom rails on thirds which is nice ... having it with her a little further into the shot may have created a leaving something as well as a going somewhere impression.

Subject:
Crikey this meets the challenge and does it good.

Technical (Colour and light):
I really think that this look works well for this picture.

To grow its vote?:
as mentioned above ... that is all i can think of.

Summary:
I think thsi is really lovely .. and I hope you looked after your model after she fell off.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

She was very nervous- she fell off the bike a few times. :-)

Nice composition. Partial sepia coloring leaves colors feeling muddy. Would probably be better either with bright colors (especially to fit title) or else fully duotone sepia.

This is very nicely done. A great respite from the average shot found in this challenge. Great job! 10

I like the composition but I'd like to see more color, especially on the bike itself.

I like the soft, desaturated color. The composition works nicely. You made good use of two of the objects to create an image that actually makes some sense and works outside the boundaries of the challenge. My only beef is that there is an odd static look to the woman on the bike and I would like it if her hair were pulled back so we can see her face. Her hair blends into the background too much. Also, this is really picky, I know, but I wish she had taken off her bracelets and watch. I would like to see the curved line of her arms unimpeded. All the bracelets in close conjection to the handlebars give a choppy, cluttered look to that area.

This is the most natural of all the entries. The hint of pink works. I'm wondering if maybe the background being a bit lighter might've worked better. Possily some dodge on the trees? Nice off centered placement of the subject. I wish we could see a bit more of her face. 7
