Buz?by Canadian_ehComment: I think showing the full scale of this in some manner would have helped, whether it be getting a person or some other object in there for size perspective. |

PB280039.JPGby lissylouComment: I like this very much, nice and sharp. Consider getting a diffuser screen for you flash, as the higlights are a little blown. always a problem with flash photography though. Alternately, halogen work lights come in handy too. That way the highlight is not direcly on the front of the round surface. |

walkingby arsenalComment: This is quite an odd photo, but somehow striking. Trying to figure if it is a double expousre or just a slow shutter.
I really like the color saturation and high-contrast. Might be better if the person wer not quite so close to the top of the frame. Message edited by author 2005-12-24 19:32:45. |

holiday homeby melodeeComment: Greetings and Merry Christmas from the Critique club :o)
I've been sitting on this for a day to think about it.
The colors of this image are very flat, and it lacks contrast in general. I'm not sure what you meant by shutter speed:1/2.6 but maybe 1/2 a second? It seems that the camera might have chosen this, and not you intentionally. Try setting up and taking the shot at several different shutter speeds when taking shots of dark subjects.
I think this could have been helped by taking the picture at night also. This would serve to bring out the house and to get rid of all the ugly brown grass.
The dog doesn't seem to serve a purpose and just seems like he happened to be there.
Also, is seems that it is slightly tilted to the right, may be the perspective of the house from the side. Taking the shot more direct on might help if that is the case.
Other than the flat colors and composition this picture lacks a real message. One possible Idea that I had was for maybe a large present sticking out of the mailbox, or someone carrying a large box to the front door. This challenge was very much a product or sales idea photo, and this doesn't really inspire a warm and happy feeling that makes me want to buy.

Buchanan Theatreby SJCarterComment: I like this one except for the blurry sections in the doorways of the theatre. I love the "Stylin Shed", classic... |

Harry's Houseby SJCarterComment: I like this one very much, the placemnt of the house with the lamp appeals to me. I am usually a big fan of full color images, so the fact that I like this actually means something :o) |

Chilly Peppersby Bear_MusicComment: I think they're supposed to be frozen, but I can't see for over processing. I think this challenge calls for an especailly clear visual message, and you don't have that here. Very good as a picture otherwise though. |
