Bricks (Week 7)by booboo_goonComment: I find this very interesting because of what I cannot see. With the tight crop and the doorway, I want to know where this is, how old it is, and what's in the other room. At first I didn't care for that, but the more I look at it the more I like it. |

Reflecting Giantby trevytrevComment: This is the perfect subject for B&W, with the contrast from the arch and that fantastic reflection. This is different from many of the pictures I've seen of it and makes me want to visit it myself; you've shown it's true scale. I don't care for the grain, but that's just my preference. |

#3 Vaseby SonifoComment: I did not expect this from the thumbnail; the thumbnail looked dark to me. When I opened it I saw the subtlety involved in your lighting and it is not dark at all. That vignette just makes the shot. How did you create the vignette?
I also noticed the off-center vase, before I read the comments below. This tends to happen to me frequently, especially with horizons in landscapes. Sometimes it's a matter of choosing what looks straight, as opposed to what actually is straight. |

Nick Nickedby QuasimojoComment: I'm guessing you gauged their demeanor before you setup to take you shot. Either way you da man! It seems like questioning photogs is becoming quite common and you (and them) did it right, considering that they were just doing their job.
This is much better than my experience 1 1/2 weeks ago with security at a local shopping center who pretty much accused me of lying at what I was taking pictures of until I showed him. He was genuinely surprised to see somebody taking a picture of a flower. |

Day_11_Monteroby ApertureAshleyComment: We like snow too but lately the driving is awful. Usually it's that annoying couple of inches that makes everything sloppy but a few years back we got hit with over 2 feet in one day! It was a blast.
I don't blame you for not wanting to go out, and you got the shot. |

Day_10_Poohby ApertureAshleyComment: I like the contrast between the eyes and fur. These cats look fine in pictures but I think all cats have that evil side! |

Day_9_Cakeby ApertureAshleyComment: I like how this has that homemade feel to it, and I bet it was really yummy. Didn't anybody tell you that one of the rules is that you have to send out cake to everyone in the SOL side challenge?? |

Day_8_Grand Canyonby ApertureAshleyComment: I think this just hints at how large the thing really is. This angle is great and even though you say you aren't that close, it still looks scary. The colors of the rock you are on contrast nicely with the rest. |
