I can see it now - somebody at the botanical gardens wondering why a photographer would take a picture of a dead flower. They just have no clue!

Good job using DOF to blur the background and keep focus on the flower. I like the overall dark feel to this.

I like the textures here and somewhat unusual setting for a portrait. Not sure if it was a conscious choice or not, but the color of the clothes fits perfectly.

I really like the tones here and the people (with lampshade of course!) add interest. The new version of Photomatix is pretty good at getting rid of ghosting, but I'm guessing that the haloing is due to setting in Photomatix. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any Photomatix questions - I've spent waaaaaaaay to much time playing with it but I can usually keep the halos out.
