The Poetby bvyComment: Wow! It would be nice to see a tiny bit more shadow detail, but otherwise it's awesome. The negative space and high contrast work so well together. |

Cheyby karmatComment: I was thinking the same as the others before I read their comments. Good composition and great smile. |

Larryby karmatComment: I like the angle and composition, it just seems to give him a natural look as opposed to "say cheese". Did you create a vignette around him? Either way the lighting works well here. |

Bright Kidby MelonMusketeerComment: I used to have a headlight at his age, sometimes I wish I still had it, or at least a third hand. Considering it was a snapshot it turned out well, except the blown out area behind pulls my eye from Dr Robbie. |

Progressby bvyComment: This really has a journalistic feel to it, at first I thought she was a protester. I really like the B&W and angle you shot this from. I wonder how it would look with a bit cropped off the top to make you subject a bit more prominent. |

Dadby LonniComment: I think one of the most difficult things about photography is getting a portrait that looks natural. That reflector worked on the light and his smile, I may have to see if it makes the kids smile over here (maybe I'll paint a smiley on it!). The pocket is a bit distracting, but that's just a nitpick. |

Scoobie the Sailor Dog.... and Robertby MelonMusketeerComment: It's amazing that little dog can hold onto such a big stick for so long. You and these old lenses - really makes me want to try it. I know the local Salvation Army has some old stuff, maybe I'll wait until they have 50% off Saturdays and see what they have. |

Mother & Sonby BarbBComment: Even though there's lots of color and contrast, what draws me in are those nearly identical eyes. |

But, Mommaby karmatComment: I love the drama here - I bet a minute later she was smiling again. That light (and lens) was really workin' for you. |
