I didn't get a chance to comment on this during the challenge, so I'm so glad it was brought back to my attention. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this photograph, not as much for aesthetic reasons as sentimental ones.

It reminds me so much from when I was I child and we would go to visit my great-grandmother in Germany. She would always be at her street-front window chatting with one neighbor or another when we arrived. Before she got too old, she would bake big sheets of potato cakes and pass them out to everybody. She was a real character...thanks for the flashback!

Great lines to this composition that are nicely balanced by the person and umbrella. The title apparantly went over my head and definitely doesn't add to the photo.

How can you not like anything street rod...and they do look good in red. The composition feels rather cramped, but other than that a very good photo.

...and yes, very Sin City-esque! Well maybe a little too cheery and not enough darkside!

I don't see what you think is cheesy about this photo at all. I like the little story that's going on with how the children are so fascinated with him, yet he seems more concerned with you. He's definitely telling you something with that body language...now to figure out what.

I really like the composition and very bold color combo. There does seem to be detail missing from the exterior of the tulip petals that should be there. But I still like how graphic this is in style...nicely done!

Rouge sur Rouge

Great color and clarity, good composition as well. I like the use of shallow DOF, but find the transitions of focus abrupt and uncomfortable, especially in the foreground. Very nice overall though!
