| 01/24/2003 06:26:05 PM | Then bring friends around it. by jjbeguinComment: This is very beautiful, what a great still life. Very rustic and lovely colours, textures and makes me sooo hungry! Good Luck! My favourite this week, came back for another look, would make a lovely kitchen picture, framed on the wall. |
| 01/24/2003 06:24:17 PM | Yoghourtby lionelmComment: This is interesting and abstract, but I cannot quite work it out, is it a splash of yoghourt? Maybe a different colour background would have set this off nicely. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/24/2003 06:22:41 PM | Crémeby ClubJuggleComment: Definetely gets the taste beds working! Focus doesn't seem quite sharp enough on the top of the cream, the use of DOF is good however. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/24/2003 06:20:35 PM | Trying to butter me up?by catpixelComment: Just wondering what your white balance was set to, cause of the colour cast in this, I got this blue cast when the flash was on but the white balance was set to incandescent lighting. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

How strange! While I was voting I thought that this was Jogashima. I went there on the Friday for this challenge, and got so carried away with the Kites that I forgot to take Landscape pictures, I had planned on taking the exact same picture as yours! I wish I had cause mine was not really a Landscape! Small World! By the way, I live in Kurihama, how about you? |

Composition-Content
Firstly, I like your idea for this picture, you made a good point. However, when I look at this picture, I see space! Where I live, in Japan, there is nothing but buildings, they have about 5cm between each building, literally! So, space is all relative. I would hate to see this happen in other beautiful parts of the world. You have made a great picture in this respect, as it makes you think and acts as a springboard for discussion. As far as composition goes, people have mentioned that there is no clear focal point, I think that you might have been able to use the road leading into the picture as opposed to horizontally, however it is hard to say this without seeing the view behind.
Technical
Use of panoramic was a good choice, it looks like you used a wide lense which has added a slight curve to the horizon. Colours seem a little soft here, I wonder if you could have boosted them a bit more.
My Opinion
The best thing about this picture is that you have made a statement, one of the most important parts of photography IMO. Good Luck in the next challenge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
