An awesome composition for the challenge. The whole filter effect thing wasn't my style in this challenge, but you used it to the nines. Excellently done.

ya, I like this one much better. The lighting is wonderful. I still want some breathing room, I think. You managed both horizontal and vertical levels this time. ;)

Whew, last one. Hey, this wasn't even in a challenge... ;)

Tehcnicals: Either the DOF or focus is just slightly soft. I know the 17-40 is a sharp lens, but I seem to sense softness around the eyes. Your DOF may have been sharpest at the tip of the nose where the AF likes to go. Lighting is good. I'm not bothered by the bright right shoulder. I am more bothered by the sharp shadow from the hands. The juxtaposition of the shadow and the bright upper arm is the highest area of contrast and our eyes are drawn there immediately.

The feel: Contemplative. I like that. IF this wasn't a candid and you could have set up the background, I would have searched for somewhere without a car and house growing out of your subject.

The game: Well, you weren't playing the game, so I won't say anything. ;)

Technicals: Lighting is good. It does have a slight tonemapped feel, but is certainly not overdone. The tonemapping may have lowered your contrast in some areas a bit too much which lends a slightly flat feel. The wide radius USM likely helped, but I'm looking for a tiny bit more. The main bush is where I see this the most.

The feel: Quaint. One somewhat limiting factor is all the foilage is of the general same color. This makes most of the shot blend and the bridge is the only thing that truly stands out.

The game: It's a nice shot. I think people usually search for a little more "wow". Getting "wow", however, is playing the game, not necessarily required for a good picture.

Technicals: great control of the sky. full props for that. I like the composition as well. Focus is sharp.

The feel: I think it is very tricky to pull off objects that are almost sillouetted, but not quite. If you are going to have detail, I'd wish it was on the "pirate". That figure seems a bit lost as a sillouette in all the rigging.

The game: Ships seem to do well on DPC and I do think your sky was excellent.

Technicals: you control the lighting well. We have some details in the rock and the bright isn't blown. I think the composition may need some tweaking (see below). Focus is on.

The feel: I want to crop this tighter. I like the natural frame the rock provides, but I do not like the large expanse of rock on the left. I think you would do better with about half of it. A closer crop will also provide more real estate for your model who is somewhat small in this shot.

The game: I think you had a good idea here. Meets the challenge well and is creative with a bit of "wow". Some work on the perspective and cropping might have gotten this one closer to 6.

Technicals: The lighting is nice. The focus appears to be on. You will notice that you had to choose between a level horizon and vertical buildings. You went buildings, which is probably the right answer. Sometimes perspective correction can let you do both.

The feel: The clouds add appeal in the background. I think the shot feels cramped. I don't know what is to the left and right there in Perth, but I think I want to let those buildings breathe.

The game: Not bad. If anything, I would have tried to spot a time with even more dramatic light. It's certainly not bad here, but I'm sure you could squeeze a little more "wow" out of this shot.
