This is something I have wanted to try to shoot for ages. It is a pity that part of the bird's head is obscured. A better angle, side on more or from a higher angle so that the feeder isnt so dominant and obscuring the bird, would have improved it a lot, the colors are nice too. Keep trying to get these guys you will get the shot when you least expect it.

I like this crop the best. Is there any way that you can lighten up the eye slightly, the whole shot has an almost polarizer filter effect to it now which has darkened everything so possibly just go a bit lighter overall and you will see more eye detail? Okay I know I am being picky LOL but the eye is where the impact is so you need to see it a bit clearer?

Nice shot Jimmy, my favorite subject. My only concern was the almost oversharpened look of the forelock, eyelashes and face. As this was a straight out of the camera challenge I assume that you used in camera sharpening?

Looking at your edited version in a recent post in the forums I also like the second edit, close crop of one eye.

Edit to add : I also love the fly on the cheek LOL

This is fabulous, definitely not an easy shot even if you can manipulate it afterwards but you nailed it. Great shot, perfect exposure and focus. One of my favorites in this challenge. Good luck.
