| 07/18/2005 09:07:35 AM | The Raceby LoudDogComment: 8 - Good clean shot against a clear sky. Criticism; perhaps a little darker coloring. More sharpness. Maybe black and white, not sure. Something to 'bring out' the 'chrome' would be good and maybe some 'spinning' of the wheels, if possible, just for an edge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 09:05:16 AM | Leader of the Packby rookie92Comment: 8 - Good shot, good character, shows the effort and endurance. Good mix of bold colors. Criticism; slight rotation perhaps and a different crop. More focus. Maybe slighter tighter angle to get more detail in the face. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 09:03:08 AM | Naturally Highby photomikeComment: 8 - Good shot. Like the sepia? Like the almost 'barren-ness', or at least how you have made it 'feel' that way. Criticism; more 'bare', 'barren' feel would be good, different angle, to exclude the buildings in the background. The frame, while it does enhance the dark colors, it does also detract from the 'said barren-ness'. |
| 07/18/2005 08:55:24 AM | Killing Conesby Kha0SComment: 8 - Good action shot and capture. Gives a good sense of speed and 'cut'. Criticism; maybe a different crop, not sure. Title would be better indicating the vehicle or speed or 'cornering'/'cut', rather than the focus on the cone which is a minor aspect, in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 08:52:09 AM | Gliding Highby dmv91280Comment: 8 - Great angle, nice and clean, good simple colors. Criticism; more focus, perhaps a different crop, not sure though as you have a good perspective. Just sharper on the glider or the 'glider'. The frame - not sure, given the color of the sand below, I think you may have lost a lot of the 'expanse' feel with the frame. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 08:42:15 AM | Agelessby scrum8Comment: 9 - This is likely my favorite of the challenge. Good capture and character. For me the character of this photograph has the most appeal. Criticism; although the colors seem slightly 'dull', I think that adds to this photograph and any variation would detract. Perhaps something done in pp with the 'overexposure' of #9's hair, but then that does draw the eye there. Maybe a different angle, maybe somehow making #9 'stand out' more, not sure. The seemingly candid nature of this photograph and making the viewer (me) feel like I am getting a glimpse at a run of the mill weekend 'scrummage' match, make this stand out, for me. ' Feels' real. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 08:34:38 AM | At the readyby kcumanComment: 9 - Nice shot. I like that there seems to be maybe three 'sets' of people within this shot that are all focused on something different, and you have captured that. I like the sepia?, adds to the character. Criticism; difficult as anything you do, cropping, coloring, would likely detract from the 'set' aspect I just explained. Good 'little people' action shot. I think the frame works too. |
| 07/18/2005 08:20:49 AM | they are right behind youby ceyvalComment: 9 - I like this shot 90% for the young fellow far right. For me he makes this shot; his facial expression, the movement and 'action' of his mouth, his untied shoelace(s) and his sheer grit and determination. Without him and his character, for me this shot would be a 5 for this challenge and a 3 as a 'general' photograph. Criticism, for me maybe a closer crop at the foreground, not sure. Something to bring 'him' to the centre if possible, no clue how, but for me, he is the star attraction regardless. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/18/2005 06:28:58 AM | Flamingoby BeeGeeComment: '9' - This is a great photograph. Excellent capture. Perfect natural lighting. Beautiful colors. The only possible criticism I could offer, in my opinion, would be that possibly, a slight rotation to the left - and that is about it. But that may throw out the 'shape' of the body, not sure. Possibly a tighter crop vertically, but that would make this 'another' photograph (not a lesser one just different). I do like the semi-elongation as it is, it emphasizes the height of the bird while not detracting from the central 'body'. Again, even as a 'full length' this would still be great. It is the shape (and colors) of the body though, for me, that truly make this photograph so I think you have 'set' that just about perfectly. The dappled shade over the feathers makes this whole capture appear even softer. Very nice. Excellent opportunity and extremely well taken advantage of. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
