kickflip 9 stairby petrakkaComment: 8 - Good shot. Good angle (fish eye? helps) and I really like the shadow on the wall. Criticism; I think this shot would be great in black and white given the 'lines' and the shadows and the fairly 'plain' clothing. Sharper and a tighter crop (to get rid of that roundish shadow and the top light, if possible) would make this a better photograph for me. |

Kite Surfingby SeanachaiComment: 8 - Good shot. Criticism; sharper, bolder color. If you could enhance that water 'dripping off' would be really good. Maybe a tighter crop. |

Final Turnby ReallyColorBlindComment: 8 - Good capture. Good colors. Good 'dirt'. Criticism; sharper angle, tighter crop (to utilize the blue fencing only), slightly richer colors, would make this a better photograph for me. |

and the Bat went Cuh-Rack!!!by SkipComment: 8 - Excellent opportunity capture. Criticism; sharper, bolder (colors and texture) and 'if only' to capture that bat in absolute focus, would make this a better photograph for me. A different crop, 'if only' to get the catcher out of frame, but pretty impossible from this angle. Superb action shot and I think, aside from a tighter crop, you have likely done the best you can with the opportunity you were given. Possibly, black and white, but I am sure the bat would be lost even further. Good title. Good shot. Memorable. |

Street Ballby irishempressComment: 8 - Good, fairly clean, simple action shot. Criticism; for me this would be a better picture with just the two 'players'. The one in the background takes a lot away from this shot. Good capture of the 'feel' though. Sharper, different crop, better focus. |

Slalomby ZoomdakComment: 8 - Nice clean shot. Excellent 'wave' and spray capture. Criticism; skier is a little dark, and if they were looking up or 'toward' would be better. Background is very good. Maybe a slight rotation to the left, not sure, to get that background water/shrub line level, would also give more 'angle' and intensity to the skier. I like the black and white, but given the simplicity of the water/spray/shrubs, perhaps the color would have played well. |

Safe on Secondby WildflowerJoyComment: 8 - Good 'moment' capture. Criticism; richer colors, focus further in the fore (to me it looks like the first patch of grass is in focus). Maybe a tighter crop. Dust is good. Just the focus and sharpness, lighting is likely difficult with the black background. Also to gain more 'feel' on the 'red' players' faces would be better, for me. |

Surfing by microComment: 8 - Good surf shot, good capture of the wave 'cut' and 'spray'. Criticism; more detail, maybe stronger colors, different crop. Given the water 'spray', maybe black and white for this would work, not sure. |

First Ride with POPby melsterComment: 8 - Just a good simple action 'family' shot. Good 'feel'. Criticism; sharper, 'closer', maybe a different angle, but I do like the 'head on' of this. Maybe a closer crop, forsaking the spray and nose to bring out the real 'feel' of the 'ride with pop'. Nice background. |

Emily on the Moundby bobdaveantComment: 8 - I really like this shot but can't quite take it up to 9. Really like the intensity in her face and the concentration and focus. Good angle and capture of the stance/positioning. Criticism; somehow closer, enhancing that said 'intensity'. Sharper and bolder and 'richer' for me would make this better. Maybe, more 'blur' on the one in the background, not sure, as that does 'add' to this photograph as is. The 'frames' in the background add too. Maybe with the 'funeral home sponsor' brought into it more, woiuld make 'Emily' seem all the 'meaner' - (for a girl). |
