Anyway, shot is a tad flat to me. I'm wondering if maybe playing with b/c would create more impact and bring out the DOF more in this? Nice shot though I just felt it didn't fit the challenge.

I love the tones that are working for you here. The purple mixed with the brown tones in the beans is stunning. I can only nit pic the rim of the cup as being on the burnt out side but only after further examination. This shot has a very original spin on a very common place subject matter. One of my top picks for this challenge.
