The flower is a little too sharpen (sharpened?) and makes the petals look a little brittle. I like the composition though. - 7 or 8

In answer to the questions on what this is - it is an old shot tower inside a shopping centre. The roof is a cone shape. The shottower is a listed building in Melbourne and so when they built the shopping centre they had to preserve the building - so they have incorporated it into the design.

A shot tower is where they would make the little buckshot in shotgun cartridges, etc. in times gone by. I believe it was done by pouring molten lead from the top of the tower, letting it form into drops and solidify before landing in a water container (I believe) at the bottom of the tower.

My first in the top 20 and my first in the top 10% so I am very happy. Thanks for all the great comments on the picture - The flower is from my garden, and I took the picture early in the week and was very happy with it. I tried it without the border but it didn't work. Looked to get a gold coloured border, but eventually took the colour from the stamen in the middle of the flower.

Not quite my highest ranked pic - though I had hopes for it. Thanks for all the great comments on the picture - I found it peaceful and reflects my view of where I'm going since I like to take each day as it comes. I liked the subtle colourings in the gull and the sky in the original picture so it is close to as shot.
