Such patience to sit for this. The lighting is perfect and the scene is very well composed. Just the right balance between water and land with your placement. The colors are well preserved and not distorted with the exposure. Reading your description and, I hate to admit it, being familiar with the ST reference you made, this is right in step. Nice color range and well preserved. The composition is good - love the swaying grasses in the foreground...balancecs out the sharper lines in the distance. Well done with the lines of the clouds seem to be in synch with the lines of the water. Well done!

Beautiful shot...well composed and the colors are fantastic. I love how the range is all in the blues. Textures on the rocks in the foregound give it a placement of strength while the rest of the shot gives it a nice soft feel...excellent contrast. Well done!

Indian River Tornado

WOW again! Just got around to checking emails and got the three you sent and the # for this one. Very nice work on the clouds! Really gives the tornado a very ominous presence in the shot. The coloration in the water also lends strength to the power of the storm above. The small touch of blue sky above the storm (upper left) adds a great element of perspective to the situation - strong, powerful storm moving in fast to take over the blue sky and sunny day. I really like this version a lot! Great work Roxanne!

You uploaded this in my 'transitional' period it seems and I missed it. I really like the composition of this shot. In one frame of mind I really like the attention that is focused on the color of the eyes and hair balanced with the processing of the facial skin. The black background is the only way to go. The whole combination really works. Really sets a mood and a point of view. Very expressive. Nice work!

However, on the other hand I kind of agree with Jimmy, but I feel that would really change the mood and intention of the shot.

Did you know I really hate being torn?
Did you also know that the larger half of the tear is on the first paragraph of this post?

WOW! That is some timing and an awesome shot. Definitely, if there ever was one, this is a case of being in the right place at the right time. I love the clouds and the composition - excellent balance in the image. Good exposure control too. The clouds are great and I love the range of colors in them. Nice job Roxanne! A keeper no matter what!

As a side note - do you have noise reduction software? If not, send me the original and I will run it through NI and send back for your processing. But this version doesn't look all that noisy. Clouds and grays look that way normally lots of times - especially clouds - they are a grainy subject by nature really.

Again, great shot! I would love a print of this. Hope you were not caught in the storm that surrounds it.
