needs the brightness on the cats face/chest toned down - perhaps by tweaking the WB on your camera. Not really a macro or near-macro as you did not zoom in to a specific feature of this feline.

the subject, while plain, does make me wonder what is at the end of the rope, or what the rope is being used for. However, for a macro challenge you need to concentrate on an area of 1-2 inches - even without a true macro lens, you should be as close as you can to the subject and try for sharp detail of the most interesting part.

not sure what you were trying to focus on here. If it was the tiny hairs on the end of the nose above the bright area (right side) then I can see them but not close enough. If it were the inside of the nostrils, tilt the head back more.
